What is Enhanced Analytics?
Enhanced Analytics is SimpleVoIP's call reporting tool, included at no extra cost for customers with call traffic. It turns your phone activity into reports you can view on screen, export to Excel, or have emailed to you on a schedule. There is nothing to install.
Use it to answer everyday questions such as:
- How many calls did each location or person handle last week?
- When are our busiest days and hours, so we can staff for them?
- Which callers did we miss, and which of those did we never call back?
- How does one region or brand compare with another?
Enhanced Analytics lives inside Q Branch, SimpleVoIP's customer portal, under Reporting & Analytics. It works for a single office or hundreds of sites.
Getting access
You can open Enhanced Analytics if your SimpleVoIP profile has any one of these:
- Role Level of Customer Admin
- Role Level of Supervisor
- Contact Type with Enhanced Analytics checked (for managers who only need reports)
If the tile is greyed out for you, ask your company's Customer Admin or SimpleVoIP Support to add the Enhanced Analytics contact type to your profile.
To open it:
- Sign in to Q Branch at q.simplevoip.com.
- Click the Analytics tile.
- Enhanced Analytics opens with three tabs: Call Reports, Scheduled Reports and SMS Reports.
If your company has several locations, users set up on the main (parent) account can report on every site, including sub-locations.
Finding your way around
Every report follows the same pattern: pick a report, set your filters, then view, export or save the results.
The three tabs
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Call Reports | Every call report, ready to run on screen or download |
| Scheduled Reports | Reports you have set to arrive automatically by email or webhook |
| SMS Reports | Statistics on your text message traffic |
Base reports and custom reports
- Base Report (grey label): a standard report built by SimpleVoIP, such as Call List or Missed Call List.
- Custom Report (blue label): a base report saved with your own filters, such as "Midwest Missed Calls, Last 7 Days". Use the pencil icon to edit it or the red icon to delete it.
If you open a custom report and then click a base report, your filters carry over. Clear or change them as needed.
Filters
- Date range: choose Relative for a rolling preset such as Last 7 Days, or Fixed to pick exact start and end dates.
- Time window: narrow results to certain hours, such as business hours only.
- Sites or Site Groups: pick individual locations from the site tree, or a saved group such as a region or brand. Your account admin can set up Site Groups so you don't have to tick each location every time.
Search and export
- Use the Search box above any results list to find a phone number, name or location. For example, pull a Call List for the week, then search a number to see every call to or from it.
- Click CSV to download the results for Excel or to share with your team.
The reports
Enhanced Analytics includes 10 base reports. Start with the question you need answered, then pick the report in the right-hand column.
| Report | What it shows | Use it to answer |
|---|---|---|
| Call List | Every call in the period: time, direction, location, and caller and recipient name and number | "What happened with this caller?" |
| Call Summary (Overall) | Totals for all selected locations: inbound, outbound and missed calls | "How busy were we overall?" |
| Call Summary by Device | Inbound, outbound and missed calls for each phone | "Which phones take the most calls, or miss the most?" |
| Call Summary by Location | Call counts, answer rates and talk time for each site | "Which locations need more support?" |
| Call Summary by User | Total, inbound, outbound and missed calls for each person | "How responsive is each team member?" |
| Calls by Day | Average calls for each day of the week, and how many were answered | "Which days need more staff?" |
| Calls by Hour | Call traffic for each hour of the day | "When are our peak hours?" |
| Executive Summary | A high-level overview across all locations. The automated Executive Report version adds charts and shows fastest and slowest answer times, most and fewest missed calls, average talk time, and top and bottom sites by volume | "How is the whole business doing?" |
| Missed Call List | Calls that rang a phone but were not answered, with location, caller details and ring time | "Who did we miss today?" |
| Lost Call List | Missed inbound calls that have not been returned yet | "Who still needs a call back?" |
The SMS Reports tab adds the same kind of view for text messages.
What the results look like
Missed Call List: each row is a caller you missed, ready for follow-up. Use Search to find a number, or CSV to download the list.
Calls by Day: average inbound, outbound and internal calls by weekday, plus answered and missed calls for each day.
Executive Report: your busiest sites and the overall totals at a glance.
Step by step
Run a report now
- In Q Branch, click the Analytics tile, then the Call Reports tab.
- Set the Date Range. Click Relative for a preset such as Last 7 Days, or Fixed to choose exact dates.
- Choose your Sites or Site Groups. Leave all selected to see the whole company.
- Click a Base Report in the list, such as Missed Call List.
- Read the results on screen, use Search to narrow them, or click CSV to download.
Save it as a custom report
Save any report you run often. You must save a custom report before you can schedule it.
- Set the filters exactly as you want them.
- Click the Save Report icon, just below the end date next to the help button.
- Give it a clear name, for example "Midwest Missed Calls, Last 7 Days".
- The report now appears in your list with a blue Custom Report label.
Have it emailed to you automatically
- Open the Scheduled Reports tab and click Add Schedule.
- Select the custom report you saved.
- Choose how often it runs: Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
- Pick a start date and time. The report runs at that time on each cycle. For example, tomorrow at 5:00 AM on Daily sends it every morning at 5:00 AM.
- Choose how to receive it:
- Email with a CSV attachment, or
- Webhook in JSON format, to send the data straight into a CRM or other software.
- Add the email addresses or webhook link, then click Save.
Tip: a scheduled Lost Call List each morning gives your team a ready-made call-back list.
FAQs and getting help
How soon do new calls show up? Allow 1 to 2 hours after a call ends before it appears in reports.
Does it cost extra, or need call recording? No. Enhanced Analytics is included for customers with call traffic, and it works without call recording.
Why do some callers show as "anonymous"? The caller blocked their caller ID, so no name or number was sent with the call.
Why do some sites show less detail? Locations that use an on-site phone system or a SIP trunk send SimpleVoIP less information, so their reports can be more limited.
Can I search call transcripts or get AI call summaries? Not in Enhanced Analytics. Those features are part of Simple Intelligence and SimplyAI.
I need a report that isn't listed. Open a support ticket and describe what you need. SimpleVoIP can often build it as a custom or scheduled report.
