Overview
10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) registration is required by all major US carriers for any business sending SMS or MMS messages. Without it, your outgoing messages may be filtered or blocked entirely. This article walks you through the SimpleVoIP 10DLC registration process and what to expect along the way.
How to Get Started
The registration process begins when you request SMS service from SimpleVoIP. You can do this two ways:
- Ask your Customer Success Manager to initiate the process during onboarding
- Submit a request by emailing support@simplevoip.com
Once your request is received, our team opens a support ticket and sends you a personalized registration link unique to your account. You cannot access the registration form without this custom link — it ensures your submission is matched to the correct account.
What to Have Ready Before You Start
The form takes about 10–15 minutes to complete (though updating your website for compliance can take additional time). Gather the following before clicking your link:
- Your business legal name and EIN (Tax ID / FEIN)
- Primary contact name, email address, and phone number
- Your business website URL
- A Privacy Policy page on your website (required by carriers)
- Visible SMS opt-in language on your website (required by carriers)
- A brief description of how you use SMS to communicate with customers
- The phone number(s) you want registered for SMS/MMS
- Access to someone who can update your website if compliance changes are needed
The Registration Form: Step by Step
Your personalized link opens a secure 5-step registration form:
Step 1 — Business Information
Enter your business legal name, EIN, entity type, primary contact details, business address, and website URL.
Step 2 — Website Compliance Check
Our system automatically scans your website to verify two things carriers require:
- A Privacy Policy page
- Visible SMS opt-in language (e.g., on a contact form or sign-up page)
If your site doesn't pass, you will need to add the missing content before moving forward. Our team is happy to advise on exactly what language is needed — just reply to your ticket.
Step 3 — Use Case & Sample Messages
Describe how your business uses SMS (e.g., appointment reminders, order updates, support follow-ups) and provide a minimum of 2 sample messages (up to 5). Pre-written templates are available within the form if you need inspiration.
Step 4 — Phone Numbers
Select the phone numbers you want to register for SMS/MMS. You can register up to 50 numbers per campaign in this step.
Step 5 — Review & Submit
Review all your information for accuracy, then submit. You will immediately receive a Reference ID confirming your submission. Our team will begin reviewing your application within 1 business day.
What Happens After You Submit?
- Our team reviews your submission within 1 business day
- We submit your brand and campaign to TCR (The Campaign Registry)
- Carrier registration typically takes 3–7 business days
- You receive a confirmation email once your numbers are fully active for SMS/MMS

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is 10DLC registration required?
All major US carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others) require businesses to register their SMS campaigns through The Campaign Registry (TCR). This industry-wide mandate was introduced to protect consumers from spam and ensure legitimate business messaging is delivered reliably.
Can I just go to the registration form directly?
No. The form is only accessible via a personalized link tied to your support ticket. This ensures your submission is connected to the right account. To get your link, contact your Customer Success Manager or email support@simplevoip.com.
What if my website doesn't have a Privacy Policy or SMS opt-in language?
Your website must include both before you can complete Step 2 of the form. The Privacy Policy should clearly state how you collect and use customer data. SMS opt-in language typically appears on contact forms or sign-up pages and should indicate that by providing their number, users consent to receive SMS messages from your business. Our team can help — just reply to your support ticket.
How long does registration take?
The form itself takes about 10–15 minutes (longer if your website needs updates). After you submit, carrier registration typically completes within 3–7 business days.
Can I register multiple phone numbers?
Yes. You can add up to 50 phone numbers per campaign in Step 4 of the registration form.
Will I be notified when my numbers are active?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation email once your numbers are fully registered and SMS/MMS is active on your account.
What if I have questions during the process?
Reply to your support ticket, call our support team, or email support@simplevoip.com — we're happy to help at any stage of the process.
What is TCR (The Campaign Registry)?
TCR is the industry body that manages 10DLC brand and campaign registrations on behalf of US wireless carriers. SimpleVoIP submits your registration to TCR on your behalf as part of the process.
